Bawara is an Indian Restaurant and Hakka Bar located at Downtown Toronto. The word ‘Bawara’ meaning crazy, symbolizes the chef’s crazy passion for food, life, family, and friends! In our rebranding, we captured this energy through vibrant colors, bold typography, and dynamic illustrations. The key visual, a chaotic and energetic depiction of Chef Gunateet—the founder—creating culinary magic, brings the “Bawara” spirit to life.

Logo Type
The logo features thick, bold typography with a dynamic burst in the background, symbolizing the explosion of flavors on your tongue and the rush of pleasure that follows—a true “Bawara” sensation that says the food is crazy good.

The Key Visual
A dynamic depiction of founder Chef Gunateet in his element, capturing his wild energy and the explosion of flavors. The cool chef, grooving to old Hindi songs on the radio, orchestrates a scene where ingredients dance to the rhythm. Use the slider on the right to see the rough sketch transform into a neat artwork.
This master illustration was deconstructed into smaller elements, ensuring cohesive and consistent design across all brand collaterals, including the menu.

The Dine-In Menu
The menu combined elements from the master illustration with food photographs taken by Bawara’s media team. Using cutouts, we crafted playful visuals for each food category. The layout provided a clean contrast to the cover visuals, following a structured grid format. Fun icons were used to highlight dish types such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and spicy.Explore the Menu through the Flipbook below.
